Innovation Illinois hosted the organization’s first Policy Summit on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the offices of Drinker Biddle and Reath LLP.

Michelle Saddler kicked off the event with a welcome and introduction of the summit’s objectives. The event was attended by over 100 Illinois thought leaders who convened to hear remarks from Chris Kennedy on Revitalizing the American Dream as well as an introduction to Innovation Illinois by Co-Founders John Kamis and Jay Rowell. VP for Policy, Ben Winick presented a budget overview before the attendees broke into discussion groups on Economic Development, Education, Healthcare and Human Services, Justice and Human Rights, and Sustainability and the Environment. Discussion leaders proposed questions on attainable and effective policy change that Illinois should pursue. Attendees left energized and excited for the work that Innovation Illinois is undertaking this year.
